VFW Post 3208 Memorial Day in Sierra Madre

The annual ceremony at Pioneer Cemetery in Sierra Madre saw about 300 people attend the services honoring the men and women in our armed forces.

There was supposed to be a memorial for medal of honor recipient from WW 2, Louis Van Iersa as mentioned in the Sierra Madre Weekly two weeks ago. However, the memorial wasn’t finished in time for this service.

    Eugene “Beans” Colbert, past Post Commander VFW 3208 Sierra Madre, passed away at the age of 82. “Beans” lived in Sierra Madre for 80 years. He helped make the Living Memorial Wall come to fruition. He loved his family, his community, and his country.
