Megan Corinne Sterling was born Sept. 5, 1981 in Arcadia. She attended St. Rita’s School (Sierra Madre), followed by La Salle High School (Pasadena), before heading to the University of California, Davis where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in managerial economics, with minors in communications and international relations.

She worked for several different companies after graduation, including Franklin Templeton Investments, the Sacramento River Cats, and the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club.

Sterling was most passionate about her hobbies, including yoga, spinning, and running, participating in multiple races across the state.

“No worries” Megs, as her friends knew her, will be most remembered for her upbeat and positive attitude, her vibrant and infectious smile, and her ability to lend a listening ear. Sterling passed away on Aug. 5 and is survived by her mother, Cathie Sterling Kay; her uncle, Joseph Petticoffer; her brother, Chris Sterling (Carina); and her nephew, Gage Sterling. Sterling was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Sterling.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. in the Sunrise Chapel of Mountain View Mortuary (2400 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Altadena). In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Pasadena Humane Society.
