Crumbling Crawford Camp Continues Critical Coldhearted and Cruel Comments

Published: Friday, April 16th, 2010

Let us address the losing council candidate Crawford’s latest attack on the Weekly staff and New Council, point by biased point:

1.“With the return to power of John Buchanan and Joe Mosca, has the Cumquat Era returned as well? “

-What the heck does that mean Mr. Crawford!?

2. “In the name of a twisted civility, overly ardent Mosca supporter Terry Miller, in a lengthy Sierra Madre Weekly article, has delivered a torrent of defamation and abuse against Mayor MaryAnn MacGillivray.”

The fact remains that there were two authors to the article you misread and misunderstood so well, Mr. Crawford.  Research on MacGillivray was provided by extremely well-respected members of the community.  The “torrent of defamation and abuse” as  you so vehemently scribed on your latest blogspot,  have been provided by well-respected people, once again, in the community who know what exactly happened as they were witness to said events.

Starting to sling the defamation accusation(s) is a dangerous business Mr. Crawford.   People in glass houses…

3. “So is this how soon to be seated Mayor Joe Mosca perceives his new era of comity and getting along is going to go? By unleashing his oddest attack dog against someone who has worked as hard and as long for Sierra Madre as MaryAnn MacGillivray? For what purpose?”

-“Oddest attack dog”, now really, Mr Crawford was that really necessary or even remotely accurate? A state of mutual harmony, friendship, and respect, especially between  people in Sierra Madre, is apparently not in your best interest!

4. “So where exactly is this civility we’ve heard so much about? Is this how the new regime celebrates its return to power, with ugly attacks from its surrogates? And is this what we have to look forward to for the next few years? If so, it seems obvious to me that the citizens of Sierra Madre have no idea of just what they elected when they voted last Tuesday.”

-The civility certainly isn’t within the Crawford blog files nor the majority of its anonymous contributors now, is it Mr. Crawford?

5. “All of this also begs the question, are there no adults in charge at The Sierra Madre Weekly?”

-This is, perhaps, the funniest thing we’ve heard all week!-

Now that Crawford lost by a landslide, he is being a poor loser. He did not have a plan for any of the issues or for his campaign. He was reactionary in all of his writing and never took a proactive approach to solving the issues at hand in Sierra Madre. Leaders show that they will be proactive more often than reactive to situations. By not having a clear plan for his campaign and for the city, he planned to fail, and that is exactly what happened.
The best thing to do with this guy now is to ignore him. Stop reading his blog; stop commenting on him. He is truly irrelevant in Sierra Madre politics. He will continue to rant and rave about anyone who disagrees with him. Let him have his corner of lunatic supporters. He will never have the support of enough people to truly make an impact in Sierra Madre. His true colors have really shown after his huge loss. Crawford is the new “Eagle” in town.
Enjoy life and look for the positive in everyone.

On a side note, a blog is not a news source. This is the exact definition of a blog:
“an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page”
